Marianne O'Shea is Vice President of Global Life Sciences for PepsiCo, leading a dynamic team of experts to guide the physiology and health strategy fueling PepsiCo's innovation pipeline and portfolio transformation journey. With 25 years of industry experience, Marianne has guided innovation across a range of food and beverage categories in addition to supplements, infant nutrition, sports and performance. Currently, Marianne is focused on transforming nutritious offerings in widely consumed categories leading to greater impact on public health, and is leading research programs in the areas of digestive health, metabolic health, energy, hydration, sports performance and endurance. Marianne has a special interest in affordable nutrition, both guiding programs and innovation and engaging with external stakeholders to drive thought leadership to enable better access to nutrition for all communities globally. Marianne holds a degree in biochemistry from University College Dublin and has a PhD in biochemistry and nutrition from Dublin City University. She received executive training in general management from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Marianne is a co-author of more than 50 publications and book chapters and is a co-inventor on several patents. Educated in Ireland, she originally started her career in CPG with Unilever in the Netherlands, before transitioning to the US and had led global organizations for the last 20 years.
